****NOTE OF CORRECTION: I was recently informed by Kilt Connection ownership that Hiro was not in their employment at this event. ****
It’s taken me two weeks for me to catch up with things here at the house and to get myself reorganized in order to continue the last few weeks of the season in the best form possible. There isn’t much of the season left, but it doesn’t mean I get to let my guard down!
The Las Vegas Age of Chivalry fair provided us with many challenges. Our first challenge was to get the tent (after 2 weeks of repairing it from the last windy festival) up in 40 MPH winds. Needless to say, the repair job and my poles didn’t hold up well. We had one pole snap right in half right as we were making progress.
Jennifer, my partner in crime, ended up with a “twig” through her finger and it wasn’t just a splinter either. The twig literally went under her skin about .25 of an inch, making it all the way through. Our first aid station did miracles and put her back together quite well.
Our next challenge, was working nights, something we hadn’t done since the fair started to run until 10:00 pm at night. However, thanks to the Kingdom of Vega, ECS, we were able to have light and work well into the evening… that was until Saturday when the temperature dropped something severe. People bundled up in cloaks, jackets, and winter hats and gloves were not going to get out of their clothes any time soon. We didn’t blame them.
We stayed late Saturday night to visit with friends, and I spent most of my evening with Kilt Connection and with the Greenwood Guild. Making new friends, and even seeing some old ones that I hadn’t seen in a very long time.
Hiro is definitely my MVP for the weekend as he bailed us out with not just our tent dilemma, but our extension chord issue. I have to say “Hiro my Hero” is going to be playing a bigger part in my festival life soon!
Because of the wonderful friendship I have developed, he and I have decided that we will be attempting to attend some of the festivals together, sharing some of the booth fees, and traveling together. What do you get when you put two Virgo’s together in a Prius driving across company?! I don’t know but we will see!
I was only able to provide one tummy with some henna. Seawulf household has a new baby on the way and I am most definitely excited about her first “tattoo.”
