Daddy, Mommy & baby! It’s been awhile since I have written about some of my escapades. I have to say I have enjoyed several learning experiences and new environments in which I have been able to ’sling some mud’ and enjoy the ambiance. I especially enjoy doing baby showers. This one was no exception.

The beautiful home of Pamela, owner of the most scrumptious CupCakery and soon-to-be-new mother was beautiful and homey feeling. With several little pups greeting me at the door, I was set up in a room inside (due to the Valley heat…) and I watched the frantic preparations of the party under way. Many came to say hello as they passed by the simply decorated room and passed by a vast array of food that was catered by one of our local Mediterranean restaurants. The food smelled heavenly and since my hands were up to their elbows in henna, I didn’t dare attempt to eat any of it (ever tasted henna and food together? NOT advisable!). I poked my head outside to probably one of the most well manicured and luscious backyards in Vegas. Have to say we don’t see many of those around…. And a pool and spa area that I could have leaped into clothes and all.

I worked on everything from feet, to hands, but of course my favorite is mommy’s belly. Pamela made a perfect model with her long lean appearance only enhanced by the ‘glow’ that all women show in pregnancy. As I worked, and almost as if on cue, the baby started his/her kicking because of the cooling effect of the mudd on the tummy. An active child now… and even more active one after birth!

Sharing some beautiful moments as her husband (forgive me if I forget names) spoke of fond memories of his mother and grandmother partaking in Henna parties in the home country and how he remember most of the time it was more of a submerging of hands and such and not such ‘decorative’ ideas.

Pamela sent me home with a dozen of her Red Velvet Southern Belle Cupcake and I have to say DELICIOUS!

I have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of the newcomer but meanwhile Shawn Pino of Paz Photography provided me with some beautiful professional images of the work done that night. My favorite… daddy kissing mommy’s tummy! Thanks Shawn!

And thanks Pamela! May your birth be easy and your family grow to new heights!

Meanwhile, feel free to view more of these images at my gallery. Click to travel there now!
