The last few months have been very very cold and very very slow in the way of being a Henna Artist.
The holidays were pretty noneventful, but January brought one special event that warmed my heart.
A young woman by the name of Kate had bumped into me a few years ago working at a First Friday in our downtown area. Seems that she remembered me and when her pregnancy of her first child was nearing the blessed day, she was desperate to find me. She was unable to remember my name and therefore did a hunt for a Henna Artist online only to find out later that I was the one she was looking for all along.
Surrounded in her condo by performers from Cirque Di Solei and musicians galore, I was brought into a very warming and wonderful event of a “Blessing Way” to welcome Motherhood. The most amazing part of it was that I was brought not only one mother-to-be, but three! Two more of the women there were both expecting, one of which was a few months further along than the other and allowed her tummy to be painted and beautified.
Because I have a high spiritual love for the traditions that are spiritual, I felt right at home. Thanks Kate!
I have provided some of the pictures that were taken that night in the gallery area. For the most part, I have been slacking in getting my images up because of one illness after another. I am sure by now Kate has given birth to her beautiful baby girl and finally given up the ’secret’ of the name that her and her husband had chosen for her.
At this time I would like to send my congratulations to her and her new family now and hope that I have provided her baby girl with a memory and a warm welcome to this new world.
