Last night was as enjoyable as I could have thought it would have been.  Took ‘the mom’ with me to help out where she could and if anything, she ended up collapsed on the pillows that the mother of the bride had set up in the corner for me to work on her.  I find that setting the brides on the floor to work on, isn’t always the best way to work on them. 

She looked through my books, and as a Pakistani bride, she found the Indian patterns quite intriguing, although wanted more skin to show through on the patterns.  We matched the top of the hands and the feet a bit, with flipping the pattern back and forth, and provided a beautiful leaf pattern for the palms of her hands. 

In between the drying and spraying, we had some wonderful conversation about her and her groom.  I always enjoy the stories that are shared by the families about how the traditions and the family lineage was and is now.  Both the bride and groom are Doctors in different lines of medicines as well so was the brother of the bride.  A very highly intelligent and extremely lovable family.  Everyone, as usual, was very happy to cater to the bride as she was being pampered by me, and then I received some of the pampering myself. 

After the bride dried, I was able to embelish slightly the henna with the new glitter products so that it matched her dress.  The bride has promised me some pictures with her in her dress.  I am truly looking forward to that.

In a way, I kind of feel like I am a Obstetrician who has a collection of photos of all the babies they have delivered.  I have a collection of brides from all walks of life now.  It’s kind of fun to think about the diversity.  This particular bride was Pakistani, but her groom was from Sri Lanka.  It’s so nice to see the openness that cultures have the potential have of showing.

I will be posting some images of her set soon!  Until then, I have another bride today. And I am off at that starting gate!
