The crazy part of my year is starting to filter it’s way into my life.

Several weddings this week are up and coming and I am thankful that those that I am working on have been extremely pleasant and easy going dealing with schedule changes and such.  Because I wish that I could put Henna as a business that produces enough money for me to live one, there is always the saying that “An artist is a starving one.”  So, with another business that keeps me homebound and Henna keeping me quite busy outbound, I am well balanced this time of year.

A meeting of the guild that I belong to, “Shifting Sands Belly Dance” had a very well organized and well attended meeting this weekend to discuss the on goings of the up and coming “Age of Chivalry Ren Fair” here in Las Vegas.  It is a huge event for the local Parks and Rec and even bigger still for those who vend.  Even though I have occasionsally had competition in that I have had other artists there, I still have a very faithful following of those who will be looking for me always know how to find me and where to find me… this year will be even easier… just follow the drums and the pretty dancers!

Not to mention, this year I will have a few more products to produce.  Some of them being some tapestries, boxes and free style period artwork and…. I will be offering Jagua as well.  The hard part is knowing how much Jagua to purchase prior to the event.

Although several of the events I will be doing over the next few weeks will actually be assisting in the expenses that are coming, the best one that I look forward to is the Faire.  I see friends that I haven’t seen in over a year, and of course there is that possibility of bumping into a few that I might have wanted to see.  But after the meeting this last weekend, I have actually felt the warmth and sisterhood amongst the girls in the group.  All of us doing a major part of the work in hopes to make a successful adventure out of it all.  I am extremely proud to accepted and belong (although officially not a paid member as of yet) to such an amazing group of women who passionately care about the dance and Middle Eastern cultures of historical past.

We will be having a live band and group that also performs at the Southern Pleasure Faire in Southern California attending our Faire with us this year, so I am also excited to see that.  It seems that comradere and excitement is building extensively.

Despite the mix-up with our application with fair that I am sure will straighten itself out, and my new donated endeavor of working on the website for the “Shifting Sands” tribe and all the rest of my projects, I should be quite busy.  I hope to keep you all posted about new contacts with phenominal artists and my adventures in Henna…!

Bright Blessings and keep slinging the mudd!
